Designed by Mark Fouxman, the Samar VL37 is a truly unique ribbon design using a proprietary corrugation process and low mass ribbon for an extended frequency response that makes it sonically have more in common with a condenser microphone than most popular ribbons. It’s excellent anywhere the high SPL handling of a ribbon is necessary without the usually high frequency roll-off.
