A modern “reimagining” of the classic D12, the D12 VR has more in common cosmetically than it does sonically. Designed specifically for kick drum, the phantom power activated three way filter changes the voicing by boosting the low end around 50Hz (green), cutting the mids around 700Hz (red), or significantly boosting the highs are 6000Hz (blue). Used passively the D12 VR still exhibits high frequency boost that are common to exaggerate the attack for a “modern” sound.
